About this Project
ECU City Campus – This $800m multi-disciplinary campus will be home to ECU’s renowned Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), School of Business and Law, School of Arts and Humanities with the WA Screen Academy and Broadcasting, emerging technology programs from the School of Science and Kurongkurl Katitjin – the university’s Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research.
The building generally comprises of various performance spaces and studios at the lower levels, with teaching, learning spaces and administrative functions at the higher levels. Central to the design concept is the interaction within the building at each storey and between storeys via ‘bridges’ and vertical transport elements (escalators and passenger lifts), in conjunction with long axis corridors/circulation spaces to facilitate and encourage ease of movement throughout the building.
